Beth Hayward

Lead Minister

As our Minister, Beth brings to the community a warm heart, deep curiosity in others and an infectious down-to-earth nature. Beth makes time for people and space for the big questions with which we all wrestle. She thrives on the multi-generational nature of our community, offering space and a listening ear to seekers of every age. Whether leading worship, visiting those in crisis or managing administrative duties Beth brings to her ministry a deep sense of the sacredness of each moment and a commitment to be authentic on the way.

Beth has been Minister with us since July 2012. A graduate of the Atlantic School of Theology, she was ordained in the Maritimes in 2000. Her first posting was to a church with six congregations in rural Newfoundland. Since then she has served two churches and an outreach ministry in Ontario. Beth offers a breadth of experience in: preaching, pastoral care, faith formation for all ages, administration, writing, curriculum development and designing programs for youth at risk. She comes to us most recently from Trinity United in Kitsilano.

Beth is mom to Leah and Anna and married to Steven Chambers, also a United Church minister.
