Christine Boyle

Minister of Community Life

Christine is a community organizer raised on Coast Salish territory in Vancouver, BC. She grew up in the United Church of Canada, and has a BSc in Urban Agriculture and First Nations Studies from UBC, and an MA in‘Religious Leadership for Social Change’ from the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, California. She was ordained by BC Conference of the United Church of Canada in May 2017.

Christine brings a plethora of experience in programming and community development rooted in faith, purpose and spirituality. In 2011 Christine launched Spirited Social Change, an initiative aimed at engaging people across generations to explore the intersections between faith and our work for a better world. Through that work she initiated and helps coordinate The Self Care Project and Fossil Free Faith Canada, and consults on a variety of other projects.

Chris regularly talks about feelings, contemplates purpose, rides her bicycle, tends to her garden, and preaches about the need to create social, political and economic systems that reflect our desire to care for one another and the earth. She lives with her partner, toddler and stepdaughter in East Vancouver.
