Welcome, Danica Black
This summer we’re blessed to have Danica Black as Children and Youth Coordinator. Recommended by Neil Surkan, Danica has worked at the Naramata Centre creating, delivering and evaluating child-centred leadership programming. Danica has an honours Bachelor of Arts and Science degree in environmental studies and biological sciences from the University of Guelph.
An avid cyclist, Danica is the youth cycling instructor at HUB: Your Cycling Connection. Last fall she cycled 1200 km along BC’s coast as the media liaison for the Otesha Project, a national youth-led charitable organization that uses experiential learning, theatre and bicycle tours to engage elementary and high school students on topics of consumer choices and sustainability.
She’s also the treasurer for Check Your Head, not-for-profit that educates young people to take action for social, economic and environmental justice
within our local and global communities. She can be reached via email.
Danica describes herself as “deeply passionate about leadership and spiritual development in youth . . .”
We’re thrilled our children will be in her care for the summer.
