Please join us for what promises to be a wonderful concert and a celebration of peace in our 90th of year.

International prize-winning organist Neil Cockburn is performing an organ concert at Canadian Memorial United Church (1825 W 16th Ave, Vancouver) Friday, October 19th, starting at 7:30 PM.

Neil Cockburn

The concert is part of the church’s 90th anniversary celebrations. Dr. Cockburn is currently Director of Music at the Cathedral Church of the Redeemer (Anglican) in Calgary.

The 90 year old organ at Canadian Memorial is a beautiful 42 rank, 3 manual instrument built by Casavant Frères (Opus 1269). Intriguingly the organ was gifted to the church by the people of the United States as a memorial to the 1500 American soldiers who died while serving in the Canadian Army during World War I.

The organ was re-constructed and re-dedicated in April 1960 in memory of those who gave their lives in the wars of 1914-18 and 1939-45, and others since 1945.
