Light Up the Season Tree Lighting
December 2 @ 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm
Join us at 5:30 on Sunday, December 2 as we “Light up the Season” with our annual 16th Avenue tree lighting. The lights are donated from across the Vancouver community in memory/honour of someone.
Just steps away from Canadian Memorial United Church a community Christmas tree glows brightly against the dark winter sky. Each year more and more coloured bulbs are added to it to remember, to honour, to commemorate, or even to just represent you or your family.
Canadian Memorial invites you, the community, to be a part of this holiday magic by donating a dedicated Christmas tree light and securing your place on this unique tree as part of our Light Up The Season event.
Each coloured bulb represents a different gift: (White $25, Green $50, Yellow $100, Blue $200) and can be personalized with a message sent to the honoured recipient of the donation. Donations are accepted online or in person at the Canadian Memorial United Church office, and all donations are tax-deductible.
The public lighting of this special tree, along with carol singing, will take place on December 2 at 5:30pm. A simple comforting meal, by donation, will be served following the festivities.
Come and find joy, delight, and peace this holiday season as you see your commemoration lit up on this special Christmas tree, and know that each and every light represents someone or something special from our community.
