Kids and Youth needed for a special Children’s Choir performance during our annual Christmas Choir Concerts on December 16!
Do you have a young singer in the family who’s ready to show off their skills and take part in the CMUC annual Christmas Concerts happening on December 16?
Children and youth (aged 7+) are needed (no audition required) who would enjoy learning a fun song and sharing it as part of this year’s Christmas Choir Concerts. In just two special rehearsals, kids will be ready to sing, “That Time of Year” from “Olaf’s Frozen Adventure”.
This is a unique opportunity for kids to interact with talented choral musicians AND enjoy a choir. Our very own Lonnie Delisle chose this song as a fun way to acknowledge that there are lots of legitimate ways to celebrate the season.
Our CMUC kids can also invite their friends to the rehearsals, knowing that there are families who may not have a church background yet would still appreciate the diversity and depth found in our annual Christmas Choir Concert.

Our Christmas Concert Choir is directed by Lonnie Delisle, Music Minister at Canadian Memorial Church and the Artistic Director of Universal Gospel Choir. For four years Lonnie was the Music Director with the kid’s musical theatre summer program, “Gotta Sing, Gotta Dance” at the Jewish Community Centre and always enjoys ways of involving kids in music.
Lonnie began producing the Christmas at Canadian Memorial concerts in 2013 out of a desire to create the ultimate Christmas experience for people of all faiths and backgrounds. With a 50-voice choir, 30-piece orchestra and children’s choir, it’s a thrilling performance opportunity for all ages.
Vancouver-based actress and singer Lindsay Warnock will coach and direct this unique children-and-youth Christmas choir.
Lindsay is a Jessie Award-nominated, Vancouver-based Actor, Singer, Musician, Composer, Educator and Music Director. Lindsay proudly holds a Bachelor of Performing Arts specializing Musical Theatre from Capilano University. She has been a full-time Musical Theatre, Piano and Voice Teacher for children of all ages for the past 6 years at such schools as Dena Work School of Performing Arts, Caulfield School of Dance, Affinity Dance and Harbour Dance Centre. Her favourite acting credit by far has been playing Princess Fiona in Shrek the Musical at Theatre Under the Stars. When she is not on the stage, you can see on TV as the Host of TSN/ESPN’s STIHL Timbersports and if you look hard enough, you can see piano-abilities as a frequent hand-double for big budget Hollywood films!
Lindsay has been a member of the United Church for almost 20 years and has been singing in the Canadian Memorial United Church Choir since October 2017. She could not be more excited for the holiday season and working with the incredible children of this congregation to bring the joy of Christmas through song!
